What is ptosis?

What are the symptoms?

Ptosis is a condition in which a person's eyelids do not rise fully when he or she tries to raise them due to certain factors. In addition to making it difficult to see things because the eyelids are lowered and the eyes are covered, deep wrinkles may form on the forehead due to applying force to open the eyelids, and excessive use of the forehead muscles may cause tension-type headaches, stiff shoulders, and eye strain.

What Causes Ptosis?

Ptosis can be congenital or acquired. Causes of tendinous ptosis include the following

・Sagging eyelid skin and muscle weakness due to aging

・Heavy rubbing of the eyes due to hay fever, atopic dermatitis, etc

・Long-term use of contact lenses

・Long-term use of computers

How is it treated?

Since ptosis is a problem with the structure that raises the eyelid (e.g., the levator muscle and tendon membrane of the eyelid), surgical treatment is the basic treatment for this condition. Those who have symptoms such as headaches and stiff shoulders due to ptosis may also improve, so please feel free to contact us if you are worried.

The use of laughter anesthesia ahead of others in the country

Laughing anesthesia reduces anxiety during surgery and allows patients to undergo surgery with peace of mind.
